My love for the 'cheaper' underrated Gibsons definitely begins with this one. An early 60s attempt to make an affordable ES guitar by incorporating the electronics into the pickguard so they could be assembled apart from the body and added at the last stage.

This particular one is very clean with some lovely subtle lacquer checking. Having the 'Melody Maker' style single coil at the neck as well is great when you want to plug in and push the input gain to create some crunchy blues. I also cant think of a better vintage guitar, at the price point, to sit on the sofa with at the weekend with a glass of whisky and enjoy life.
